Friends fall away. Animals are relentless companions, our ultimate confidants." This is very, very true, and why mourning the death of our beasts is so raw. When I read about your animal loss, I could grieve along with you because it re-opened the experiences I've had with my own losses. But I did not expect last year to also experience, not too long after yours last year, a death so close to my heart, it shook me... *alive* !

Unlike the death of a parent, or the losses of lovers and friends where I was left feeling emptied of hope, the death of my dearest animal companion filled me with the desire to live for them because their life was so short, and we fought together so hard to keep alive. The memory is a healing wound that keeps on healing. The tears that come are refreshing ones, hydrating my soul to continue loving.

And what do I have occurring now in my life?

There's new life emerging across from me, all around me, nesting birds have hatching young. I have a kitten who has grown into a beautiful queen! Nature embraces me. Like you predicted: I am changing, transforming, too.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7743965357861234981.post-78515470346656511232014-03-28T20:33:30.335-05:002014-03-28T20:33:30.335-05:00I relived some pain again reading this post.
